The Longest Night
One of my new year resolutions is to spend more time getting my blog up to date and working as I'd hope it would work, which is to say as an archive/gallery/journal. I've always thought about documenting my process by photographing my work at the end of each day and keeping a record of how paintings evolve/emerge from the chaos of my process. I thought getting high speed internet would make a difference (we just have dial-up and it takes 25 minutes to upload one painting,) but I haven't been willing/able to spring for that yet (though truth be told I have access all day at school.) Today is the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year. I knew it was fast approaching because both the dogs and the horses have been asking to be fed dinner earlier and earlier . Clearly they measure time by the light of the sun and no clock! Now the days will start getting longer and I will stop wanting to fall asleep at 7:30 pm.
